St. Louis Cardinals Are Out For Revenge In 2010
After an incredible regular season that resulted in 91 wins, St. Louis was sent packing by the LA Dodgers in three straight games. Many people had picked them to not only get past LA, but to make it all the way to the World Series. It is no wonder that the St. Louis Cardinals cannot wait for this season to start.
When people look at teams that are built for success, the Cardinals are always a team that you have to consider. They have great pitching, a fantastic bullpen and their offense has both speed and power. They can truly play every part of the game the way it was meant to be played. Long ball or small ball, they are going to be in the game.
When you look at some of the starting rotations around the league and compare them to the staff that the Cardinals will run out there every night, you have to start to get excited. They have four starters that are locked in and every one of them has had at least one season where they have notched 15 wins. Imagine facing off against that every time you play them.
When it comes time to hand the ball off to the bullpen, who better than Ryan Franklin to take it? Here is a player that struggled to find his true role but that everyone always thought was talented. It almost seemed as though we were going to lose him and then the trade happened. He settled into a bullpen role and never looked back.
He is a perfect example of someone needed a change of scenery as the moment that he went to St. Louis, something just started to click for him. The second part of 2008 was incredible and he carried that right into 2009 and put up some of the best numbers in the league. He is still relatively young and the Cardinals can turn the ball over to him in good faith.
One thing that fans have not had to worry about over the last decade was the offense of the St. Louis Cardinals. From the moment that Pujols put his professional uniform on, he has done nothing but produce homers and massive amounts of RBI’s. He starts every season as an MVP favorite and it is truly a shock that he does not have more of them sitting on his mantle.
Do St. Louis fans really need to be convinced to head out to the ballpark? Only if they want to get good seats because you can be guaranteed that they are going to go fast and furious once the season gets going. Get some sweat shirts and parkas now fans because you will be seeing baseball in October once again in 2010.
