Not only do an overwhelming majority of American households (98%) own a television, but within those households the television is watched on average nearly 4 hours a day. Every age group is now accustomed to having a television readily accessible to such an extent that it has become a part of their daily lives. Plasma TV are more satisfying when used for gaming consoles because of the higher amount of panel resolution that gives a more detailed video gaming experience. Plasma TV’s are more likely to suffer from burn-in from images from displaying the same image for extended times. This problem was particularly prevalent with early models of plasma TV. LCD’s also provides a less fatiguing viewing experience because the image quality is more stable. Additionally, the LCD Television lasts about 60% or 20,000 hours longer than a Plasma TV. Not only will LCD’s save you money when you go to purchase one, but since they are more energy efficient, they will save you money each month when compared to a Plasma set.

When spending big money on a TV, it is good to remember that the newest innovation is not always the best. You want a product that will be worth your investment. LCD’s are high quality, more affordable and longer lasting than Plasma TV’s, making your money worth it.
