A holiday in Lapland will uncover a beautiful winter wonderland for all ages. Lapland has sections in Finland, Norway and Sweden and is found in the Arctic Circle. Besides a variety of winter sports Lapland also offers a look into a Christmas wonderland complete with Santa, elves and reindeer.

You can take a look at Santa’s post office, have a sleigh ride pulled by a reindeer, meet Santa in person, pet Rudolph and see Santa’s elves at work. Besides the Christmas themes there are other winter sports, and fantastic scenery to behold in Lapland.

If you are interested in skiing then you should visit Lapland between the months of February and April when the ski conditions are at their best. Beside down hill or alpine skiing you cal also do hill skiing and cross country skiing. There are also enough resorts that you will not have to deal with any heavy crowds or long lines at the lift.

The scenery in the Artic circle is astounding and you will see things you never imagined. In Sweden, Lapland has a hotel made completely of ice, think of James Bond! The national parks also are some of the most beautiful in the world and a perfect spot to view the aurora borealis.

Finland offers accommodation in snow hotels, ice igloos and even a snow village. You can learn to drive your own team of huskies or try your hand at ice fishing. Saunas are also hugely popular in Finland so you too will be enjoying the luxury of your own sauna and complete relaxation.

Of all of Lapland the landscape in Norway is extensive and very diverse. You can visit mountains, plains and the ocean. There are many ocean activities besides winter sports and you may be able to catch sight of an Orca whale during and Orca safari.
